Deze phono versterker haalt het maximale uit een beproefde circuit schakeling. Het heeft de natuurlijk klankkleur van de GE1 en de complexe expressiviteit van de G10i.
 
Net als bij de nieuwe g700i voorversterker is de GE-7i geen downgrade tov de GE-10i en ook geen upgrade tov de G-1. Hij opereert echt in zijn eigen klasse.
