Thrax Teres mk2

At the base is a single-ended tube input stage that is responsible for full voltage strengthening and thus for the tonal character of the amplifier. Via a specially developed phase-splitting transformer, the signal is then passed to an extremely powerful JFET/MOSFET output stage. It is striking that the output stage does not add its own sound character, but only provides the necessary power to effortlessly control even the most demanding loudspeakers.

 

The result is an amplifier that combines the colour, texture and natural flow of high quality tubes with the control, speed and authority of best solid state designs. Music is created against an exceptionally quiet background, with impressive spaciousness and an almost effortless dynamic presentation.

 

What really makes the Teres Mk2 special is its ability to deliver strength and refinement at the same time. With an output of no less than 150 watts of 8 Ohm and 200 watts of 4 Ohm, he has a huge power reserve, while the first Watts are delivered in pure Class A. This keeps the refinement and resolution, regardless of the volume or complexity of the music.

A fully molded solid aluminium housing, an advanced shunt-controlled power supply for the pipe staircase, silicon carbide rectifiers, transformer-connected balanced inputs and even a unique solar-powered bias control illustrate the uncompromising approach of designer Rumen Artarski.
