LuminT3X

New at Highender Audio and now part of our permanent demonstration range: the LUMIN T3X Network Music Player.

The T3X develops the successful LUMIN T3 further, bringing technologies from higher models to an attractive price point. With a fully dual-mono DAC architecture, integrated linear power supply, optical network connection and the latest generation of LUMIN processing, it is a comprehensively equipped digital source for a high-quality music system.

At its digital heart are two ESS SABRE32 ES9028PRO DAC chips, with a dedicated DAC for each channel. The fully balanced, dual-mono analogue output stage uses technology derived from the former LUMIN X1. This provides a very quiet background, excellent channel separation and a natural, spacious presentation.

The power supply is a major improvement over the original T3. The T3X is the first LUMIN T-series player with an integrated linear supply using a large toroidal transformer. Low-noise regulation and a separately shielded section of the enclosure help minimise interference with sensitive digital and analogue electronics.

Network connectivity has also taken a significant step forward. Alongside conventional Gigabit Ethernet, the T3X has an SFP fibre-optic network connection. This can galvanically isolate the player from the home network, removing a direct path for electrical network noise into the audio electronics. RJ45 and SFP can be used simultaneously, allowing the T3X to function as a simple network switch for a LUMIN L2 or NAS, for example.

The T3X supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz and native DSD up to DSD512. It can also upsample internally to PCM 384 kHz or DSD256. Its USB and BNC outputs allow it to serve as a high-quality network transport for an external DAC.

Streaming support includes Roon Ready, Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, JPLAY and UPnP/OpenHome. Control is available through the comprehensive LUMIN app or a supported streaming platform.

Leedh Processing volume control is also included. This allows direct connection to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers for a particularly minimalist high-quality system.

The T3X's sound follows the LUMIN philosophy: open, refined and spacious, with composure and detail without becoming analytical or forced. The dual-DAC architecture and revised linear supply give it authority and refinement that clearly place it above the more affordable models in the range.

With its solid-aluminium chassis, integrated linear power supply and extensive digital capabilities, the T3X is a complete network player that we feel sits at the heart of the current LUMIN range.
