Esprit Lumina network cable

Traded in and now available: an Esprit Lumina Ethernet network cable, 1.0 metre long, fitted with RJ45 connectors. This is the earlier version without external filter or polarisation modules.

The Lumina belongs to the higher cable ranges from France's Esprit Audio and was developed specifically for high-quality network connections in streaming audio systems.

A network connection involves more than accurate digital data transfer. High-frequency electrical noise and electromagnetic interference can travel through an audio system via network connections. Esprit therefore pays close attention to electrical geometry, shielding and connector quality.

The Lumina uses a symmetrical electrical construction and extensive multilayer shielding with silver-plated copper, intended to minimise the influence of external RF and EMI interference on the network connection.

Both ends are fitted with high-quality Telegärtner RJ45 connectors, chosen for their mechanical precision, reliable contact and excellent shielding.

This 1.0-metre cable is the earlier, relatively slim Lumina version, without the external boxes used on later generations of some Esprit cables.

In a high-quality streaming system, the Lumina can connect a router, network switch, music server or streamer. Especially when the rest of the system already performs at a high level, attention to the network connection can contribute to a calmer, more refined presentation.
