The Ultimate Dream was one of the very best products from the Dutch brand Crystal Cable and was developed as an uncompromising speaker cable for reference-level systems. Despite its extremely sophisticated construction, the cable has remained remarkably slim and flexible, something that sets the Ultimate Dream apart from many other speaker cables in this price range. At the heart of the cable are six separate solid-core monocrystalline silver conductors. These are arranged around a seventh central core of DuPont Teflon, which physically separates the conductors from one another. Crystal Cable developed this geometry with the aim of keeping capacitance and distortion as low as possible. High-quality materials such as Kapton, PEEK and Teflon are used for insulation. The shielding is also exceptionally comprehensive, combining monocrystalline silver, silver-plated monocrystalline copper and gold-plated monocrystalline silver. The cable is fitted with speaker connectors specially developed for the Ultimate Dream. The result is a cable that does not seek to impose a distinct character of its own on the system.
