After many years of loyal service, it was time to give the Highender website a proper overhaul. Not because the old site was no longer doing its job, but because Highender has continued to grow in the meantime. More special equipment, more second-hand gems, more stories and, above all, a clearer idea of what we want to showcase online. The website needs to keep pace with that.
You can actually see the biggest change straight away. The new Highender website has become much calmer, more spacious and more visually appealing. Whilst the old website was still very much structured like a traditional online shop, the new version is much more about the experience. Large photographs, fewer distractions and equipment given the space it deserves. Because let’s be honest: when it comes to high-end audio, you’re not just buying a list of specifications. It’s got to look the part too.
The equipment featured has also been given a much more prominent place. Not tucked away somewhere amongst all sorts of pages, but as a fully-fledged part of Highender. Beautiful products that can often provide years of musical enjoyment and therefore deserve to be presented as such. At the same time, navigation has become simpler, allowing you to find brands, equipment, blogs and current offers more quickly.
Another key difference lies in the editorial content. On the new website, we don’t just want to tell you what we sell, but above all why we find certain equipment interesting. Reviews, listening experiences, background articles and practical stories therefore play a greater role. Less like a brochure, more like Highender.
A lot has changed behind the scenes too. The new structure gives us more freedom to expand sections further and add new ideas without constantly running up against the limitations of the existing website.
As a result, it doesn’t feel like a minor refurbishment, but more like moving into new premises. It’s the same Highender, the same love of music and fine equipment, but now in an environment that suits it much better.
